Arizona State Society
Serving God, Home and Country
Serving Our Community
“We want a society founded on service.”
– DAR Founder Eugenia Washington
Since the 1901 establishment of the Arizona State Society DAR, members have made a difference in our communities.
One of the objectives of the Daughters of the American Revolution is to protect important historical locations and erect monuments to preserve American History for future generations. For over a century, Arizona’s DAR members have placed historical markers across the state to commemorate people and events important to our state’s history.
The education of young people is one of the objectives of the DAR. Our members are passionate about educating youth and contributing to schools and student programs. We organize events around Constitution Week September 17-23 each year, sponsor essay contests, award scholarships, promote literacy and support our community classrooms.
Since 1901, the Arizona State Society DAR has been dedicated to the promotion of patriotism. We support active duty military and veterans with donations and volunteer projects. We recognize the accomplishments of others with the DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest for high school seniors, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Medals and awards for community volunteers. Arizona State Society DAR members attend naturalization ceremonies across the state welcoming new citizens.
