The Arizona State Society, DAR, sponsors awards for students and community leaders.
Patriotic Awards - Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award
This medal and award is presented to a youth volunteer, 14 to 21 years of age, who provides outstanding care to veterans.
Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Medals
Arizona State Society, DAR, began recognizing ROTC cadets in 1969. This important program assists trained officers for service in the armed forces.
ROTC medals are awarded to high school cadets of outstanding ability and achievement.
Educator Awards
The DAR recognizes the dedication and work of our teachers as they promote American history and patriotism.
The Outstanding Teacher of American History
This contest honors notable full-time teachers of history and related fields such as social studies, government, and citizenship education in public, private and parochial schools, grades five through 12. These teachers have demonstrated excellence in readily sharing knowledge of American history, being committed to their students, and fostering a spirit of patriotism and loyal support for our country.
Arizona Outstanding Special Education Teacher Award
Arizona State Society, DAR, sponsors an annual award to recognize the contributions made by classroom special education teachers. The award is given to a teacher who demonstrates dedication to the intellectual development and lives of their students. Active classroom special education teachers can be from any state-approved or accredited school pre-kindergarten through grade 12 program.
